After weeks of seeing the site broken, I decided to go in and fix it myself.  My husband and I put our heads together and solved the problem pretty quickly - thankfully, I still have admin privileges on the site.  There was an issue with the loading time of the page - the pictures that had been in the right hand nav were taking too long to load, causing everything in the right sidebar to time out and put up a MySQL server error message.  The only way to make the page work was to remove the pictures from the navigation (and put them back on the photos page), allowing the nav bar to load in the time allotted on the server.  The site is, once again, fully functional!
